So as I said before I'm a diver and if you're ever interested in becoming a diver and you live within the New York Area here is everything you'll need to know.

First thing you need to do is get certified.  PADI is one of the more popular dive certification organizations.  I myself am an Advanced Open Water diver

Once you've completed your confined water courses you now ready for open water.  Some divers go straight for the tropics but if you want to avoid the airfare Dutch Springs is just 70 minutes from NYC by car.

Once you have your open water certifications a good place to start is by taking a trip to Key Largo, Florida.  The diving is beautiful and it's just an hour south of Miami.  I try to get down to Amy Slate's Amory Dive Resort at least once a year.

I am the current Dive Director for one of the oldest and most famous dive clubs in New York City, the Sea Gypsies. The Gypsies are a great bunch of divers who only want to promote the sport and share it with other divers.  Click on the link for more information.
